Welcome to this week’s meeting of the eClub of the State of Jefferson.
I am Bob Gibson, President of the Rotary eClub of State of Jefferson. Welcome to this week’s meeting. I hope this finds you well.
One of the signature programs Rotary offers to young people is the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA). The Clubs in District 5110 will a leadership camp for 144 high school sophomores and juniors June 20 -25. Our Club didn’t send a student last year. So, we have credit for one tuition fee, $600, with the District. I have seen the impact RYLA can have on a young person. They receive training in leadership, public speaking, and group interaction. They come away with increased self-confidence and the ability to be effective in group settings. It would be wonderful if we could provide this opportunity for a student from one of our communities within our District.
I have contacted the Rotary Club of Lincoln City. If they have more applications than they can send, I asked them to provide me with the contact information. Please contact the Rotary Clubs in your communities with the same request. It would be great if we had students to interview by the end of March. We can set up a Zoom interview and select the best candidate. Here is a link to our District website for more information:
