Annual Fund
Your support of the Annual Fund is the key to serving communities worldwide in Rotary's areas of focus, which are peace and
conflict prevention/resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health,
basic education and literacy, and economic and community development. You can direct your Annual Fund contributions give to
one of the areas of focus funds, the World Fund or SHARE, and all contributions are spent wisely on quality Rotary projects.

The Annual Fund makes it possible for Rotary clubs to transform lives worldwide. Your generous support funds local and
international projects that advance The Rotary Foundation’s mission. All contributions to the fund are spent on quality
Rotary projects. Help support these projects by making a contribution today.

The Every Rotarian, Every Year (EREY) initiative encourages all Rotary club members to help us reach our goal to support
The Rotary Foundation financially each year. Our 2012-13: Worldwide EREY fundraising goal (Annual Fund goal) is US$120 million.

You can direct your Annual Fund gift to SHARE, the World Fund, or an area of focus fund. Your gift supports Foundation grants and
activities worldwide. You can make a one-time gift or enroll in recurring giving.  

SHARE is the primary source of funding for Rotary Foundation programs. It's also the only Annual Fund designation that
generates funding for the District Designated Fund (DDF). Rotary districts use their DDF to pay for the Foundation activities
they choose to participate in.

World Fund contributions provide the Foundation’s portion of funding for approved grants. Through the World Fund,
the Foundation Trustees can allocate funds where the needs are the greatest.  Areas of focus contributions provide the
Foundation's portion of funding for activities addressing critical humanitarian issues and needs.  All options are available
for one-time or recurring contributions.

PolioPlus Fund

End Polio Now. Be a part of history and help Rotary achieve a polio-free world. Rotary and its partners are on the brink of eradicating polio,
but a strong push is needed now to end this tenacious disease once and for all. Your contributions support immunization campaigns
in developing countries where polio continues to infect and paralyze children, robbing them of their futures and compounding the hardships faced by their
families. As long as polio threatens even one child anywhere in the world, children everywhere remain at risk. By donating now,
you can help Rotary achieve a polio-free world.

Since the PolioPlus program's inception in 1985, more than two billion children have received oral polio vaccine. But Rotary's work
is not done: The disease has not yet been eradicated. Contribute to the PolioPlus Fund online or by mail to support Rotary's goal of a polio-free world.
More is needed to end polio. Please continue to contribute. Donate now to help Rotary achieve a polio-free world.

What polio eradication costs: Upwards of US$1 billion per year from all sources is needed in donor contributions to fund the final eradication phase.
(Visit polioeradication.org for the most updated figures.) This level of expense is expected to decrease as wild poliovirus transmission is
interrupted in the four remaining polio-endemic countries and outbreaks in previously polio-free countries are reduced. The budget for the
Global Polio Eradication Initiative is revised quarterly to reflect changes in epidemiology as well as financial contributions made by
Rotary and other donors to the program. Contribute to polio eradication. Rotary's Challenge is our response to the two grants totaling $355 million
from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to help eradicate polio.

Permanent Fund

Help secure the Foundation of tomorrow. The Permanent Fund also supports the Rotary Peace Centers. The Permanent Fund is the Foundation's endowment,
with gifts held in perpetuity. Spendable earnings from this fund help ensure a strong future for the Foundation by supplementing the Annual Fund and
supporting Rotary's highest priorities. Your contributions to the Permanent Fund secure the Foundation's future and enable Rotarians and friends
to fulfill their philanthropic goals.

The District 5110 Future Vision Steering Committee has been hard at work. They have adopted a set of DRAFT policies. The Future Vision Plan is The Rotary
Foundation's new grant model to support district and club humanitarian and educationalprojects. While the responsibilities (and work load) increase for
Clubs and Districts, under the new grant model we will continue to do many of the things we do today. In some ways what we do today is simply repackaged and renamed.

The Foundation recognized the need to use its limited resources more effectively. In 2007, the Foundation was spending 20 percent of its annual program budget
on large grants with high impact and 80 percent on short-term activities with minimal impact.

The Rotary Foundation requires clubs, that want to receive Rotary Foundation Grant money in 2013 -2014, have at least the President-Elect (PE) attend a Grant Management Seminar. Our District requires at least one additional person attend as well. These seminars cover the terms and conditions of the new grant model. Exact locations have not been set but the dates and places
are:
Feb 23 - North Coast and Bend
March 2 - Klamath Falls and Brookings
March 16 - Medford and Eugene
April 6 - District Training Assembly
